- Standard Life is a member of ClimateWise, the insurance industry initiative whose aim is to help reduce the societal and economic risks associated with climate change.
We report publicly against ClimateWise principles and have published our report for 2008.

Heng An Standard Life is supporting Scottish singer and harpist Katie Targett Adams as she releases her charity song Day By Day to raise funds for the victims of the Sichuan earthquake in China.
Bob Gibson, General Manager of Heng An Standard Life, said "Katie is Scottish and we are here representing Scotland through Standard Life – we are delighted to be involved with the project through our sponsoring of the song and we wish Katie every success in promoting the song and through it helping us give back to the community."
- Standard Life's Step Up In Life programme received a Big Tick Bank of America Merrill Lynch Education Award at Scottish Business in the Community's Company of the Year event.
