Standard Life supports Leven Golfing Society's Amateur Champion Gold Medal

The Standard Life Amateur Champion Gold Medal is the oldest Amateur Stroke-play Competition in the world.  With the exception of the two world war periods the Standard Life Gold Medal has been played for in August every year since 1870 to the present day.

Famous players who have won the Gold Medal include Per Ulrick Johannsson (1986), Andrew Coltart (1989), Lee Westwood (1993), and Barclay Howard (1994). Colin Montgomerie has played in the event but was not able to win.

The event is a fixed field event played over 2 days at the beginning of August.
